BROKEN SISTER

When small-town librarian Mallory Mills encounters Thora McNeil, a strange homeless woman, sleeping in her library she is touched to find that the mysterious woman may be her sister. But the chief of police denounces Thora as a con woman and a dangerous sociopath. If he is right about her, Mallory is in danger of losing all her money and possibly her life.If the story Thora tells about the chief is true, he is a danger to his fiancee’s little girls. Before Mallory learns whom she can trust, she must uncover the truth about an old murder and confront some alarming truths about her own family.

  1. Ms. Gallison,

My name is Phyllis Betz; Beth Foxwell suggested that I write to you about a project I am working on. I am currently editing an anthology [to be published by McFarland] that brings together short essays written by cozy authors. Some of the contributors include Sherry Harris Julie Hennrikus, Jennifer Chow, among others. I am writing to ask if you would like to join their company.
Very briefly, authors submit short [2000-3000]word essays discussing how they approach their writing. The essays are not how-to pieces, rather descriptions/explanation of their methods, how they view the genre, characters, settings, and other topics. Also, these are not academic pieces, so no research or secondary material is required. Of course, authors have used their own work to illustrate their topic. The choice of topic is yours; however, looking at your website, I see that one of your main characters is a female Episcopalian priest. This seems, to me, an interesting topic: why select such a character? How does she become involved in crime? How different is she from the familiar Fr. Brown/Sr. Boniface characters?. But feel free to choose our own topic.
I hope I have piqued your interest. IF the project appeals to you, please contact my at the email below. Thank you for your time.
